Mommy Doomsday is produced by Dateline and NBC News. Two-time Oscar-winning actress Renee Zellweger will star and executive produce the series, in collaboration with Blumhouse Television, NBC News Studios and Zellweger’s Big Picture Co. It was also announced last week that NBC greenlit a straight-to-series based on the story featured in the podcast series. This marks the second original true-crime podcast from Morrison, who previously hosted the #1 podcast The Thing About Pam, which has received over 14 million downloads since its September 2019 launch and was listed on Apple’s top 25 most popular new shows of 2019. The first two episodes of Mommy Doomsday, produced by Dateline and NBC News in partnership with Neon Hum, will be available for download and streaming on any podcast platform on February 16, with the following four episodes debuting over the next three weeks. They are facing charges of destruction, alteration, or concealment of evidence. Mommy Doomsday reveals a rare inside look at Vallow and her husband, Chad Daybell, and the events surrounding the disappearance of JJ and Tylee, including Vallow and Daybell’s participation in a fringe religious group that believed doomsday was near. Both Vallow and Daybell have denied any wrongdoing in the case, which Dateline has reported on since the beginning. The six-episodeseries, Mommy Doomsday, features Dateline’s year-long exclusive and original reporting on Idaho mom Lori Vallow, who made world-wide headlines after her children, JJ and Tylee, vanished. Febru– Dateline NBC will debut an all-new true-crime podcast series hosted by Keith Morrison on Tuesday, February 16th.
